WHERE DID TAYLOR COACHING START?
Hi Team
My name is Monique and I am a qualified Personal Trainer and Weight Management Coach.
Weight has been a huge obstacle for me from the age of 17. Once I began working full time, I developed a habit of snacking more during the day and my everyday lifestyle became more sedentary. I have invested a lot of time on a variety of different diets and work out plans to try and improve my lifestyle and self confidence. You name it I have more then likely tried it.
Every time I have tried a different approach, I would get to a point and then lose motivation or life would throw me a curve ball. I would forget my reason for the journey or just give up.
In 2012, I was in the middle of another health and wellness journey. The support I received through the gym made me realise how hard the journey is on your own and that asking for help is not something to be ashamed of. I wanted to start being that support for others so that i could empower them the way I had been empowered. This is when i decided to study and qualify as a Personal Trainer.
I then came up against one of the hardest barriers of all. My own Mental Block and the stigma that you had to be “skinny” or “muscly” to be a personal trainer. I put my dream and journey on the back burner and continued with life.
In December of 2021, I came across a local Weight Loss Group, which got me back into looking after myself and gave me the motivation to try once more. At this point I was the heaviest I had ever been at 124.7kg and knew I needed to focus on myself again.
So, in January 2022, I decided that I was going to focus on myself. I started doing Full Keto, which was hard for me initially, however I was seeing results, so this encouraged me to keep going.
By October 2022 I had lost 30kg and was feeling amazing.
I was then also encouraged by the amazing Weight Loss Group members to start doing a weekly group class for them. Listening to how inspiring they thought I was on my journey, helped me to mentally overcome the stigma around my size and being a Personal Trainer. I decided that it was time for me to go out and help others to achieve their goals as well.
In February 2023, I started my work as a Personal Trainer at City Fitness in Whangaparaoa, which is where I am got a lot of experience working one on one with clients doing regular personal training sessions in the evenings.
I left City Fitness in June 2024 due to personal reasons and have decided to launch my online personal training business.
I am looking forward to working with you on your own journey.
