Week Two: Still going strong in Week Two.
15/01/2024
What a week this was. Week two started off strong.
Monday I went to the gym before work and trained my lower body, I Had so much energy for most of the day. I had forgotten what that felt like. I found that I wasn't very hungry throughout the day and was still consuming my 2+ Litres of water. Not only did I get back into the gym for myself, but I also had a full evening of clients as I started back doing my PT stuff this week as well.
Tuesday was a great day for me with my exercise. Again I started the day at the gym and did some weights for my upper body. I was definitely feeling Monday’s workout today though. Throughout the day my legs progressively got stiffer and it got harder to walk up and down the stairs in the office. I had forgotten that I had organised to go for a walk in the afternoon, so when I got the reminder from the ladies I was due to walk with I was tempted to say no as I was definitely slower then normal and hurting. I didn't say no though. I put my big girl panties on and agreed. Went for a great 5.5km walk along Orewa beach and it was just amazing (except for the sand in the shoes).
Wednesday was a self care/rest day. I saw the Chiropractor and had some back adjustments done, she also checked over my legs as well. Was definitely needed as I felt so much better after leaving there.
Thursday saw me return to the gym in the afternoon to train with a couple of amazing ladies that I started training as a PT in February last year. They see me once a fortnight and I train them together and last year I would join in as well on occasion at their request. This year I will be training with them every session. I admit that I was ashamed of how unfit I have become after this session. These ladies did some amazing work and put me to shame. But I already know that I have some work to do and that is why i am here now.
Friday evening I felt like a casual beach stroll, so with my husband and stepson in tow we walked down to our local Big Manly beach and walked the whole length of the beach. While this was not a paced walk, it was a beautiful evening and this time i walked along the beach barefoot, so i enjoyed the sand in my toes.
Saturday morning I went for my usual 5-6 km walk with the same ladies from Tuesday night. They are a great support and have been on this journey before and are starting their journeys again as well. Love having them around to help support and encourage me through this journey once again.
Sunday I rested again. It is so important to allow your body to rest and relax, otherwise you are likely to either burnout or injure yourself, which is not good for anyone, especially not yourself.
This week I lost a total of 700 grams. So not a major loss this week, which was to be expected, but a total of 4.2kgs lost since January 1st. So a good start to my journey.
