Catch up post: Life threw me a curveball

22/03/2024

So since my last post a lot has happened in my life and it has set me back a far way in my journey.

The week after my anniversary I got Covid which has taken a toll on my overall health. While the first week wasn't too bad for me symptom wise, the long term toll has been worse than the first time I had covid. This time it was more just hay fever like symptoms with a sore throat, runny nose and lots of sneezing. Once I got past that I was fatigued and drained so quickly throughout the day.

I decided that I needed to look after myself, which has meant that I have been seeking comfort in food and not wanting to exercise as I needed my energy for just getting through the day. I am still struggling a lot with just getting through the day, but I am pushing through because I have work and a family that needs me.

I have decided that starting Monday 25th March I will be refocusing and getting back on track with my journey again. This will be eating keto/low carb again, meal prepping my lunches and doing some form of activity at least 4 times per week. I will continue with my Saturday morning walk and will be working on getting faster with this walk.

Looking to the future, I have registered for the 11km Bridge walk that will be taking place on the 3rd November. This will be my third year completing this walk, so I am excited and wanting to beat my best time this year. Last year’s walk was slower than the first as I had been sick the week before the walk, but refused to let that stop me from completing it at the very least. So watch this space with my training for that.

I am also wanting to do the Tongariro Crossing probably next year, so I will need to set a date for that and start booking accommodation and training for that as well.

In April, I will be releasing a couple of free download packs for you to request through the website so keep an eye out for those.

Watch out for next week's blog post to see how i survive the rest of this week and get myself ready to refocus on me again.
